In accordance with OSHA, GEM MTS maintains a safe and healthful work environment through the implementation of written health and safety policies and procedures which include; Corporate Injury Illness and Prevention Plan (IIPP), Process Safety Management system, and our Operations Manual. These plans address every detail of our business activities and operations.
GEM MTS' personnel receive extensive training and undergo numerous assessments to monitor performance. We pride ourselves on the fact that we maintain an excellent safety record and have received numerous safety awards. Written plans and procedures have been created to manage the daily needs of our employees and clients, including site-specific safe work plans and job hazard analyses. Multiple meetings are held and documented throughout a project to ensure that the risk factors are properly addressed and contingency plans are appropriately incorporated to prevent injury, illness or harm to the environment.
In addition to a tailgate safety meeting at each project, GEM MTS facilities conduct quarterly safety meetings to cover any new regulations or policies and to re-emphasize the importance of working safely and efficiently. To ensure field crews adhere to established health and safety policies and procedures, GEM conducts unannounced field project inspections. The EHS Director or his/her designate evaluates the On-site Health and Safety Plan and the adherence thereof.
