Enviromental Technician/Driver - Benicia, CA
Position Overview:
The objective of this position is to provide quality environmental services within a regional market. The Environmental Technician is responsible for field operations related activities including; safe work practices, proper equipment use, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Each Environmental Technician’s career will be tailored to their abilities, skills, experience and willingness to learn and grow. Supervisory positions are available for those who prove their abilities and leadership qualities and have a desire to advance.
Key
Responsibilities and Duties:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Develop understanding and knowledge of project setup, preparation and operation of Wastewater, Scrubber, Carbon Monitoring and/or Tank Degassing equipment and procedures
- Equipment identification and inspection (hoses, vessels, fittings, pumps, blowers)
- Understanding Hazard Communications
- Proper Chemical Safety and Handling
- Operation Record Keeping
- Develop understanding and safe operation of company vehicles including logs, DVIR’s and procedures
- Develop understanding of hazardous material transportation, bill of ladings, and associated paperwork
- Perform vapor monitoring, calibration, record keeping and maintenance
- Develop understanding of company structure, resources and communication lines
- Gain a complete understanding for monitoring carbon systems.
- Gain understanding of Site safety, site permits, air quality permits and associated logs
Qualifications/Skills
- Refining and petrochemical plant experience preferred but not required
- Experience in environmental equipment operation and maintenance preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screen, and background check
- Good driving record with valid drivers license or commercial class A license with hazmat endorsement
- Hazardous material/maintenance experience desirable
- Certificated with RSO, CPR, Hazwoper preferred. TWIC card compliant or eligible required.
- Availability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends, be able to report to work on short notice, and willing to travel.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Trainable attitude, willingness to learn
