Business Development Manager - Water Treatment - La Porte, TX

Job Description:

The objective of this position is the development and expansion of GEM MTS in the industrial water treatment market segment. The Business Development Manager is responsible for all business development related activities including; new business plan development, strategy & execution, target market development, delivery of GEM MTS value proposition, presentation/proposal preparation, and customer support for GEM mobile water treatment services. This position requires an individual with proven success at developing new business and growing existing customer base. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of the upstream and downstream petroleum market and extensive experience working with the water and wastewater needs of these industries.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Business Development in Upstream and Downstream.
  • Drive sales through direct and in-direct sales efforts with large strategic accounts and prospects.
  • Become established subject matter expert for GEM mobile water treatment services, providing technical support to sales team members and customers.
  • Develop strategic market plan including market analysis, key account management and market penetration strategy.
  • New business responsibilities include the identification, qualification, development and execution of strategy in target accounts and introduction of water treatment services.
  • Assist management with business unit short and long-term revenue forecasting.
  • Participate in company operations planning and budgeting as it relates to water treatment equipment and services.
  • Effectively communicate the GEM MTS value proposition to the market.
  • Assist in the development of integrated marketing strategy and planning, to include the execution and participation in trade conferences, advertising, promotional literature and content development.
  • Leverage existing industry knowledge and relationships to assist in company business unit growth.
  • Identification of promotional opportunities to provide demonstrations and outline features and benefits of company products/services.
  • Develop and maintain high visibility with major customers and vender/alliance partners.
  • Communicate crucial market, trade and competitive information.
  • Champion the business needs of the marketplace, customer and sales organization to improve business results.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field or equivalent technical training
  • 10-15 years of experience in the petroleum industry
  • 7+ years of industrial sales experience
  • Organized, strong negotiator, awareness of and responsive to economic trends, government policies and environmental regulations
