Project Description :
Provided on-site tank degassing, vapor scrubbing and the associated vapor control services to abate airborne concentrations of sulfuric acid gases during the removal of acid sludge from an aboveground storage tank. The on-site processing of the sulfuric acid gases was designed to save the chemical manufacturer 25% over the traditional method of acid sludge removal through alternative methods. The acid gases were captured from the source tank, vacuum trucks and associated equipment and pumped through a chemical scrubber. The residual vapors from the liquid scrubber unit were piped to a mobile vapor combustor (MVCU) where they were oxidized in accordance with SCAQMD rules and regulations. Over 400,000-cubic feet of vapors were processed within a three day period.
