Case Studies

Client: Multiple Petroleum Refineries and Terminals

Location: Southern California

Project Type: Vapor Control – Temporary Product Storage

Project Description :

Provided mobile vapor abatement services to control emissions during a process where petroleum product was pumped into multiple, portable 500-bbl storage tanks. GEM MTS mobilized portable vessels containing Granular Activated Carbon to the refinery and provided control over fugitive emissions. The vapor control project also included the collection of compliance air samples, lab work, and analytical results report preparation. GEM MTS further managed the monitoring of the vapor control performance in accordance with the SCAQMD permit, the removal of spent GAC from each vessel and the replacement with carbon. This vapor control allowed the refinery to adjust product inventories minimal emissions to the surrounding work environment.

Permitting: SCAQMD

Vapor Source(s): Gasoline

Equipment Used: Activated Carbon

Cost Benefits: Cost Savings, Control Capacity & Pre-Permitted Systems

Advantage: Able to meet project capacity & exceed schedule requirements
