Case Studies
Client: Petroleum Tank Terminal Company
Location: Northern California
Project Summary
Provided on-site tank degassing services to degas a 150-feet diameter fixed roof gasoline tank using mobile vapor combustion units (MVCU) to comply with air district tank degassing control standards. GEM MTS mobilized to the tank terminal site to control vapors from the source tanks in preparation for tank cleaning operations. The thermal capacity of the MVCU was specifically chosen to meet the thermal capacity demand and the aggressive schedule needs of the customer to help return the tanks to service while providing the necessary vapor control. The client received the benefit of commencing tank cleaning operations on an accelerated schedule, thereby, returning the tank to service ahead of schedule.
Permitting: BAAQMD
Vapor Source(s) : Gasoline
Equipment Used: 20MBtu/hr MVCU
Cost Benefits: 50% reduction in cost, reduced degas time by at least 4 days compared to competition
Advantage: Able to meet project capacity & exceed schedule requirements
