GEM Mobile Treatment Services Completes Large Onsite Waste Water Treatment Project for Major Gulf Coast Refinery
09/25/07
Following an upset and the complete shutdown of a major Gulf Coast refinery's waste water treatment system, GEM Mobile Treatment Services successfully treated approximately 850,000 barrels of contaminated water, meeting specifications and thus allowing for direct discharge under the refinery's discharge permit.
Paul Anderson, GEM MTS general manager and Sandra LaRosa, project manager reacted to the emergency situation by providing same-day personnel and equipment in order to begin the treatment process promptly. GEM MTS provided a turnkey service taking complete responsibility for the treatment of the water, which allowed refinery personnel to focus on getting the facility's waste water system up and running again. A refinery director is quoted as saying, “It certainly wasn't the best situation to be in, but under the circumstances, GEM MTS provided the best solution. We are all pleased with the final outcome.”
